CSC releases the results of the August 11 CSE-PPT

The Civil Service Commission released the results of the Civil Service Examinations - Pen and Paper Test held last August 11, 2024. 14.43 percent or 42,812 out of the 296,758 examinees passed the CSE Professional Level while 14.18 percent or 4,637 out of the 32,707 examinees passed the CSE Subprofessional Level.1

While the passing rate is lower this year than last year, it was still higher than the passing rates recorded in the previous years before the COVID-19 pandemic.2

Examinees from the National Capital Region (NCR) still got the highest passing rate among the regions at 18.96%. This was followed by Region 3 with 18.73% and Region 4 at 17.56%.1 You can view the complete list of passers here or you may check it yourself using the official CSC Examination Portal.

Meanwhile, all examinees, whether they passed or failed, can check their official test scores on the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System starting October 27, 2024. The CSC reminded everyone that the results will be kept from being mailed or emailed.

Claiming of the official Certificate of Eligibility or CoE will start on November 20, 2024 at the CSC Regional Office or Field Office where they took the exam. The CoE is free of charge and is printed on CSC letterhead. If you wish to have it printed on security paper, you will have to pay a fee which will be available at any of the 16 CSC regional offices regardless of where you took the exam.

To claim their CoE, you must present any of the following valid ID cards:

  • Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • PRC License
  • SSS ID (UMID)
  • GSIS ID (UMID)
  • Voter’s ID/Voter’s Certification
  • BIR ID (ATM type/TIN card type with picture)
  • PhilHealth ID (must have the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature,  and PhilHealth number)
  • Company/Office ID
  • School ID
  • Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate
  • Postal ID
  • Barangay ID
  • NBI Clearance
  • Seaman’s Book
  • HDMF Transaction Card
  • PWD ID
  • Solo Parent ID
  • Senior Citizen’s ID
  • PhilID (Philippine National ID)

Examinees who successfully passed the CSE Professional Level examination are granted the Career Service Professional Eligibility (CSPE). This credential qualifies them for government positions at the first and second levels, which include roles in professional, technical, scientific, and managerial fields. To qualify for these positions, candidates must also have completed at least four years of college education. The CSPE is also applicable to first-level positions.

For CSE Subprofessional Level passers, they will be qualified to be appointed to first level positions such as clerical, trades, crafts, and custodial service positions requiring less than four years of college studies.

It is important to note that aside from passing the civil service exams, aspiring civil servants must also meet other qualifications such as education, experience, trainings, etc.
